VOLUNTEER POLICIES

Cash Handling Policy

COVID-19 Policies

The NM International School Foundation’s (“NMISF”) first priority is to keep all volunteers and their families safe during this national emergency.  This COVID-19 Policy shall apply to all activities conducted by NMISF until further notice.  In the event of a conflict, New Mexico laws, including executive orders and public safety directives, shall apply.

Volunteers are encouraged to refrain from bringing their children to an NMISF activity.  Children will be included in the count for compliance with any mass gathering rule and will be required to follow NMISF policies, including wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.

Any NMISF activities taking place on the the New Mexico International School (“NMIS”) campus will also be subject to NMIS policies and procedures, including those adopted for COVID-19.

All volunteers will be required to sign a Volunteer Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability & COVID-19 Agreement prior to volunteering;

No Exceptions.

General Guidelines and Expectations for Volunteers:

The following are general guidelines and expectations for in person volunteerism to help keep you and others safe.

DO NOT attempt to volunteer if you:

  • Have experienced symptoms that could be related to COVID-19 in the last 14 days;

  • Have been around anyone who has COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or

  • live with or are in frequent contact with people in the higher-risk categories for the virus.

DO NOT show up to volunteer for any activity without confirming that volunteer support is needed and expected.

DO ask about any risk that may be associated with the task and DO NOT take part if you are uncomfortable with the level of risk.

DO wear a mask that is at least two layers and that fully covers your nose and mouth.

DO practice universal infection control precautions before and during volunteering.

  • Clean and wash your hands before, during, and after volunteering for a minimum of 20 seconds.  If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

  • Avoid physical contact with others and maintain a social distance of 6 feet.

  • Cover your cough and sneezes with your elbow or tissue.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

DO clean any used spaces thoroughly before and after, including table top surfaces and door knobs/handles.

DO use proper Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) if needed/provided for the task.

DO inform NMISF immediately if you find out that you have COVID-19, regardless of whether you are symptomatic or asymptomatic, after participating in an NMISF activity. This will help us track possible exposure to NMISF volunteers and the NMIS community. Our email is info@nmisf.org.

THANK YOU!!!

The Foundation could not function without our amazing volunteers.  We appreciate you and everything that you contribute to ensure the success and safety of the students and staff at NMIS.
